Assalamo alaikum wrb! (Meaning: Peace and Blessings be upon you!)
Ramadhan Mubarak!

The Holy Qur'an says:
"The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of the guidance, and the Criterion (of right and wrong). And whosoever of you is present, let him fast the month, and whosoever of you is sick or on a journey, (let him fast the same) number of other days. Allah desireth for you ease; He desireth not hardship for you; and (He desireth) that ye should complete the period, and that ye should magnify Allah for having guided you, and that peradventure ye may be thankful." - (Al-Qur'an - surah:2, verse: 185)

We all know that Ramadhan is "the" month in which was revealed the Glorious Qur'an.
We fast for a month and offer special prayers in nights to thank Allah for blessing us with His ultimate mercy - the book of guidance and the criterion.

Why the fuss? Why us?

Hi All,

It has been many years since terrorism, fatwa, madarasa, purdah and jihad, fundamentalist, etc. came into existence in media. By existence I mean that though the terms may have existed in languages but the fast way and definitive meaning with which they now propagate across the globe.

Recently, I saw a news item that contained 'fatwa' in the heading for no reason. Two people married from the same gotra and the some community people are against it and hence the term as if media is short of terms. Or take the example of the red and white scarf that the Muslim scholars and even ordinary Muslims wear. My Dada also wore it and it has nothing to do with terrorism. I saw that being used to cover the faces of arrested terrorists!! Why this deliberate negative potrayal of Islam?

I never took much note of my friends calling me Jihadi and Pakistani or criticising Islam on aspects like cicumsicion or polygamy. That is why I am learning Islam to propogate the truth of Islam using proof of God and Quran. The Quran whose marvel lies in its challenge to mankind to bring forth a verse like it.

A broad mind always imbibes the truth.
